Parenting Support Programs:
The Connection
The Connection is a pregnancy support program for 1st time moms, teenage through early twenties, who are either pregnant or with a baby under six months old. It’s place where one can connect with other women in similar situations. Each Connection meeting will feature either a guest speaker or DVD presentation on a specific stage of pregnancy, as well as successful parenting and life skill topics. The Connection is staffed by caring volunteers who offer emotional and spiritual support, and a chance to be supported and loved by your local community through practical material assistance program. Our desire is to help meet the needs of women in this stage of their life, and to empower and prepare them for parenting and their future.
The Connection meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Turning Point. The last Friday of the month is our “shopping day” from 2-4 p.m. where the women can purchase maternity and baby items.

Earn While You Learn Program
The Earn While You Learn Program is an education-based system of earning material supplies needed for your baby. How it works is you earn “points” that you can use like “money” to shop in our Mommy and Market by keeping a one-hour appointment with a Counselor who will take you through a short parenting lesson. The lessons are taught through a series of videos and worksheets that cover everything from pregnancy to newborn care. During your appointment you usually see a video, then go over a worksheet and discuss the lesson together. The Earn While You Learn Program has over 40 lessons for you to work from, and lessons are individually tailored to each person’s need.
